On the left, you can see the base of the drawer system taking shape.

Underneath, the drawers are also beginning to look the part.

So it's time to think about the inside of the canopy. The aluminium panels for the canopy will be fitted later. This will make working on the layout inside the canopy easier. We have decided to fit two one and a half meter long drawers in the bottom. The one on the right will house our fridge/freezer. Fitting it into a drawer will give ease of access. The whole canopy will be designed, so access to all areas inside can be achieved without having to climb in.

Wood was chosen because of its ability to absorb heat. Metal would become very hot in the African climate and everything in the drawers would also increase in temperature - which would be a big disadvantage.

On the left, the system has been given three coats of ships varnish to waterproof the wood.
Now the drawers are finished. Just need to fit a couple of handles. Waiting for a 75 litre water tank to arrive, which will be fitted on top of the front end of the system. Then I will be able to fit the canopy to the vehicle and then fit the aluminium plates.
On the left, Ole and John try out the tailgate to see if it can be used a table. It seems it passed the test admirably. The fantastic cake that Ole and Anette brought helped in the decision to give the tailgate a thumbs up!!!

Now we have to get down to job of fitting the aluminium plating to the frame before fitting it to the Toyota.

The canopy is now on the vehicle and the job of fitting the aluminium plate is underway.
The arrangement of the interior is also in full swing. The large case you can see on top of the draws is the housing protecting the water tank.
